A funeral is the opportunity for friends and family to express their grief, to give thanks for the life of that person and commend them into God’s keeping.
If you have lost someone close and need to make funeral arrangements here are some suggestions which might help guide you through this difficult time.

We recommend you first contact should be with a local funeral director, someone like

You will need to register the death within 5 days at the register office. The Hull register office can be found at Municipal Offices, 181 – 191 George St, Hull, HU1  3BY,

h. A blessing
i. Music as the deceased is carried out of the church

After the service
Families often want to give guests the opportunity to meet and chat after the service, and recently a number of families have made use of the coffee shop area within the church when the funeral has been a small gathering, refreshments can be served if required.

Please consider the church as an option for the collection to be donated to; the volunteers work extremely hard to keep your church open so it is there when you need it most.

St Andrew has a remembrance service in October or November each year; you are given an opportunity to light a candle in remembrance of your loved ones. Anyone is welcome to this service.

The churchyard is now closed at St Andrew but the Paull Parish Council now has a Cemetery next to the church. To make arrangements for a burial please ring:

  • The parish clerk– Mrs Linda Kelly — 07944921859 and she will help you
  • Contact for the church Mrs Mandy Annison 01964 626115
  • Burials in  St Andrew church yard can only be permitted now it is closed if a plot was designed as a double grave and has not yet been filled, also ashes can be put into an existing plot where space permits.
