The benefice churches gave out a Tea light and prayer bookmark to passers-by at the switch on of the Christmas lights at Hedon
Everyone was asked to light the tea-light and say the prayer when the 1st bright star appears on Christmas Eve. We hope and pray this helps to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas and the love shared.
It was great to get such a lovely warm response from everyone. May the light of the candle bring you peace, love and hope at this special time

We had a great school leavers service at St Andrew to say good bye to 8 pupils who will be leaving the primary and moving onto South Holderness Secondary School. We wish Chloe Farmer, Ali Singelton, Corin Sheard, Kia Singelton, Indianna Sheppard and Jonathan Hartley every success in whatever they chose to do.
A Prayer for you all: Heavenly Father, give these children a deep love of learning, and the wisdom to understand how to use the knowledge they gain. May they know the joy of curiosity and wonders in your beautiful world, may they never stop asking questions. Bless these children with a deep sense of joy and happiness through their lives. When the times are hard as sometimes they will be – may they still have a thankful heart for blessings received and your faithful presence. Amen

The friends and volunteers of St Andrew are in despair, one of the volunteers helps collect tombola prizes for our monthly car boot sale, these are all given freely by friends, about 100 are needed for each car boot. July’s sale is less than two weeks away and most of the gifts had been given. When our volunteer went to her garage to start putting on the tickets she found she had been burgled and the tombola prizes had been stolen. Did anyone see anything along Thorngumbald Rd, Paull on Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning- 24th/25th July.
Please give one of the friends of St Andrew a ring if you have any information.
We are appealing to anyone who might be able to help by gifting tombola prizes to replace the ones stolen, this will help raise the much needed funds to keep the church open. you can drop them in at the weekend, the coffee shop within the church is open Saturday and Sunday 2 till 4pm, it would be great if you could help and it would be lovely to see you. Many thanks to all who tirelessly help to keep the church open for you and give willingly. your generous giving is very much appreciated.
Please download the benefice bulletin to read, you will then know what is happening in the benefice
Please download this leaflet it will help with the information you need to know

In November 2013 the benefice interviewed a vicar to take up our vacant post. The parish
representatives meet Paul, he was offered the job, sadly before Paul could take up the job he passed away suddenly.
On the 28th March 2014 the benefice interviewed 2 potential candidates for the job of vicar. One of the candidates called Adam was found to be most suitable — unfortunately when offered the job after the interview Adam declined the post as he felt the job move was not right for him at this point in his life.
A new date has been set for July 4th 2014 to interview potential candidates once again. Lets hope we have some applicants
It looks as though we will be without a vicar until at least October 2014
Thank you to all those who are taking on the responsibility of opening our churches for Sunday services , you are all doing a great job
Please all pray for the benefice and that a suitable candidate will come forward on July 4th 2014 and we will find a vicar soon
The next Car boot sale run jointly with the village hall committee will be on Saturday May 3rd 2014, the details are on the website http://www.standrewpaull.wordpress.com

The Annual Vestry Meeting is followed by the Annual General Meeting, this is where the committee that helps run the church is elected, we presently have 6 members working together, fundraising to earn the income needed to keep the church open for when the community need it most (this cost is about £1,000 per month). Please come a long , you would be made very welcome or ring Mandy on 01964 626115 if you feel you could help us.
